Y’all blew us away by the number of people who showed up for their teams at the 6th annual Yakima Mile; we even went to pull out the extra extra bibs from Athletic Timing. We loved seeing everyone showing up and showing out on Yakima Ave, whether walking, jogging with their dog, or running with eyes on some prize money.  The TRU-ly Rad Group Challenge put up $17,500 to go towards the top 7 groups by number of finishers on June 7.

The prize money from the challenge is distributed to these amazing community organizations. For Ellensburg XC & Track, funds go to help provide equipment, travel, and awards to the kids on their team. The Selah HS Cross CountryTeam will use the money for needed equipment. For Davis HS, the funds will be use to buy athletes a team shirt this year and a pair of running shoes for those who need it.

More information for the 2026 Tru-ly Rad Group Challenge is forthcoming. In the meantime, you can brainstorm with your group and mark your calendars for the 2026 race happening on Saturday, June 6. Some might say it’ll be truly rad.
